New Recruits on Tideway
At BuildLondon we continually work with Contractors, Developers and Planning Authorities to support local candidates find work on, and develop career pathways through, on local construction sites.
On the Tideway project, all three main works joint ventures (FLO, CVB, BMB) recently sponsored a bespoke Pre-employment programme, funded by the CITB, which includes 4 weeks of training to attain a CSCS card and other construction tickets, plus one week of site based work experience placement and a guaranteed interview.
The BuildLondon team supported the development and delivery of three assessment days, one for each contract, to which all the candidates applying for the opportunity were invited. Each of these assessment days included: Information about the Tideway Project, Group and Individual activities, Literacy & Numeracy evaluations, Drugs and Alcohol screening and an interview with a hiring manager, for positions on each one of the Tideway sites such as General Operatives and Traffic Marshals among others.
In total there were 150 applicants, and the assessment days were attended by 40 applicants, resulting in 21 candidates being selected to start the pre-employment training, to date 13 have achieved a Work Experience Placement and 7 are now awaiting jobs starts, we wish them all the very best in their new roles.
