Description of Role:

  • A technical or functional support role expected to support closely defined tasks within company procedures and industry standards. The person will receive instruction, tasks and guidance from a more senior manager.
  • The role will lead to the completion of a Business and Administration Apprenticeship and the person will be developed in the knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve this.
  • Successful candidates will be required to move between the 7 sites at BMB Tideway West depending on project needs


  • Responsible for the administration involved in the day to day running of the office
  • Maintain office records
  • Maintain office efficiency
  • Organise office layout and maintain supplies of stationery and equipment
  • Maintain the condition of the office and arranging for necessary repairs
  • General office administration duties including copying, processing of on-site employment applications, forms and records
  • Ensure office health and safety standards are met in conjunction with on-site health and safety team
  • Any other reasonable duties as required
  • The successful candidate might be asked to travel to the different BMB Tideway West sites Safety:

Experience and Knowledge Details of experience and knowledge:

  • Experience of general office administration (answering the telephone, filing, photocopying, dealing with enquiries)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong inter-personal skills
  • Experience of working within a small team and/or prioritising own workload
  • Excellent time keeping, reliability and personal organisation skills
  • Positive attitude to change when presented
  • Contributes to change in own area of work
    Qualifications and Skills
  • Work towards a Business and Administration apprenticeship – Level depending on experience ideally L3 or L4
  • Ability to manage a given list of tasks
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
  • Good writing, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to handle situations and problems
  • Know when to ask for help and guidance
  • Rational and systematic analysis of situation to enable decisions on more varied issues Competences Requirements Behavioural Competencies:
