Description of Role:
Support the MEICA Design Manager in development and delivery of the MEICA design elements for permanent works installations, with specific responsibility for the electrical / ICA elements.

Responsibilities

  • Design lead for EICA elements for permanent works installations.
  • Lead engagement with suppliers of EICA equipment and services
  • Provide quality control for MEICA equipment and services, with specific responsibility for the electrical / ICA elements.
  • Support the MEICA Construction Manager and Worksite Manager(s) in design and preparations for the safe installation of MEICA equipment and services, with specific responsibility for the electrical / ICA elements.
  • Ensure compliance with the BMB electrical safe system of works for permanent works installations.
  • Support the Commissioning Manager in preparing for the on-site testing and pre-system commissioning of the works for MEICA equipment and services, with specific responsibility for the electrical / ICA elements.
  • Support the project management team in the implementation of project controls for
  • MEICA equipment and services, with specific responsibility for the electrical / ICA elements, including:
  • contract and subcontract programmes
  • preparation of monthly internal cost value reports
  • risk valuation and reduction meetings
  • change control
  • representing MEICA team with Tideway representatives, subcontractors and internally
  • Carry out any other tasks as requested by MEICA Project Manager
  • Maintain and keep up to date files on site Represent the JV on all matters in a professional manner Safety:

Essential Criteria: Details of experience and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Water environment an advantage
  • EICA design experience
  • Ability to understand, review and challenge EICA design documents and drawings
  • Awareness of Civil and MEICA Engineering construction and commissioning techniques
  • Ability to understand, review and challenge EICA design documents and drawings
  • Proficient in the use Word & Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good working knowledge of BSEN7671 and other relevant electrical standards Behavioural Competencies:
  • Good attendance and timekeeping essential
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team to achieve deadlines
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture on the project
